Knowledge Base
Upload your documents and let your agents answer customer questions from your own content.
What is a knowledge base?
A knowledge base is your agent's source of truth. Instead of making up answers, your agent searches through your uploaded documents (product manuals, FAQs, policies, pricing sheets) and responds with accurate information from your own content. This technique is called retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Setting up a knowledge base
1
Create a knowledge base
In the dashboard, go to Knowledge Bases and click Create New. Give it a name that describes the content, like "Customer FAQs" or "Product Documentation".
2
Upload your content
Add documents in any of these formats:
- PDF files
- Web pages (via URL)
- Plain text
- Word documents
3
Attach to an agent
Go to your agent's settings and link it to the knowledge base you created. The agent will now use your documents to answer questions.
Managing your knowledge base
You can add, update, or remove documents at any time from the dashboard. Changes take effect immediately, so your agent always answers from the latest version of your content. You can also create multiple knowledge bases for different agents or purposes.
Once attached, your agent cites information from your documents instead of guessing. This keeps answers accurate, on-brand, and trustworthy for your customers.
